That is a square mile in southeast Edmonton. The tool does this against surveyed township corners rather than ideal grid math, so the description it returns matches the parcel lines on the ground.

How the reverse lookup works
The Dominion Land Survey divides the prairies into ~6-mile-square townships, numbered north from the 49th parallel and west (ranges) from each survey meridian. Each township holds 36 one-square-mile sections; each section splits into four quarters or sixteen 40-acre LSDs. A reverse lookup finds which surveyed township polygon contains your point, then which section, then which quarter or LSD — using more than 21,000 townships of surveyed corner coordinates from provincial records, not just idealized grid arithmetic. Real townships are warped by correction lines, meridian convergence and century-old fieldwork, which is why the survey fabric matters.
Reverse lookup covers the DLS grid in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and BC’s Peace River Block. Points outside the surveyed grid — cities on river-lot surveys, the far north, most of BC — have no DLS description to return; BC locations outside the Peace River Block use NTS/BCGS instead. Near a boundary line, GPS error of a few metres can flip the answer to the neighbouring quarter, so treat results as navigation and reference grade — not a legal survey.
